There were hesitations (knowing there's some political situation is taking place in the capital Cairo) when we decide to go to Egypt.
With some information from friends, TripAdvisor (thank you) and our tour advisers, we go anyway. of course with full alerts etc.etc..
But come to my surprise, from day 1 we arrived and during the 10 days of our tour , we ENJOY every single thing we had during our holiday. I myself have been to several places on tour or touring (by motor bike). but our previous vacation in Egypt is just like we live in paradise and served by angels that tipping you from how to handle the so called 'vendors', how to bargain on souvenirs that I want how to purchase what and so on.
Thank you to : Ahmed Al-Sayed, Tarek, 'Friday' Ahmed Shehab El-Din, Muhammed Imam (our Nile tour guide), Emad and driver (who drove us from Luxor to Hurgada), Khaled Honga, and last but not least our drivers : Amur and Yasser..thankyou...thankyou...thankyou...thankyou

Egypt - Wow! The service was astoundingly good! Memphis Tours made our trip memorable in every way! We were met as we got off the plane and were waved off on our departure.
I cant say enough great things about Memphis Tours. And I dont mean your typical good review. These guys went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure my wife and I felt safe and had an enjoyable time. Considerate, outgoing, respectful, time after time the guides and drivers made us feel like royalty. I cant recommend these guys enough. My sister used them and highly recommended them, and now I do also.
We had an amazing experience in Egypt! I had thought that when I booked, I had joined a smaller tour group, but it turns out we had booked an entirely private tour - we always had our own private transport everywhere we went and our own personal guide. We would never take that back! It was wonderful to have undivided attention and to be able to build our own schedule. Thank you, Memphis tours, for this perfect trip!
Very well organized, on time, and knowledgeable team!
Awesome experience with Memphis Tours. They were attentive and knowledgeable. Small issues that we encounter were corrected. All our tour guides were very knowledgeable and ready to provide as much information as feasible. Attentive and courteous. Land transportation commendable!
I visited Egypt in April with my 13 year old daughter and arranged a tour of Luxor, the Temples and the Valley of the kings with Memphis Tours. I can not recommend this company enough, an exceptional level of care. The highly professional, knowledgeable guides showed us all the important sites and were very helpful throughout the day. My daughter was a little overcome with the heat but the guide showed her such care, and the resturant where we went to have lunch looked after her making her some delicious tea and soup to help her feel better, and it worked and we were able to finish the tour.
I was so impressed with Memphis tours that I also booked other trips with them - a visit to a Egyptian show at a hotel complex in HUrghada - and once again our guide was brilliant and a glass bottomed boat trip.
I do not hesitate to recommend this company if you are visiting Egypt - they provide fantastic service, and really made our visit special.
I'm a died in the wool budget traveler - I've never enjoyed a night in a Marriot or a Sheraton. Memphis Tours put me up every night in these palatial digs. My favorite hotel room view was out the sliding doors of the Movenpic on an island near Aswan - looking out over a branch of the Nile to an island Horticultural garden - with sand dunes of the western desert as a backdrop.
My tour concluded with a custom picnic (myself, two guides and our driver) - amazing chicken enjoyed while gazing across a marsh area toward two of the 60 pyramids near Giza. Although a neophyte visitor to this magical country envisions seeing the pyramids with palm trees and green glory of the Nile Valley in the foreground - seasoned visitors know the city laps at the doorstep of most Giza area monuments. Take it from me, there is one place this is not true - but it will have to be Memphis Tours who show you where this is.
If you want to really immerse yourself in a magic place, you need a bit of guidance to find a key to the wonder. The amazing folks at Memphis Tours possess a few of the Egyptian magic keys.
It was from 23rd Feb till 7th March 2013
4 days Movenpick Nile cruise 23-26 Feb
2 days Hurghada : 27,28 Feb Marriott Hotel (5 star)
2 days and half day Sharm Shaikh 1,2,3 March Sheraton Hotel (5 star)
4 days and half day Cairo 3 March (night), 4-7 March Flat Rent
At first, I enjoyed the company of my dear parents to travel 3 nights from Luxor to Aswan via Nile ship, the sight of the Nile sends comfort. Visit temples and a lot of knowledge of ancient Egyptian history made me feel that I am on a journey to explore what is of great effects in the world and that can not be seen but only in Egypt !
At the day time we were accompanied by tour guide Alaa ElSawy and I think we were fortunate that he does not stop talking, funny :D and helpful too .. I was so lucky to live the moment of the most exited wonderful experience in my life ever! Riding Balloon in Luxor before sunrise! Oh my God .. It was incredible !
At night I do not forget how much we enjoyed dinner, accompanied by different culture passengers on the ship with the lovely team that welcomes our presence, surprises us by entertaining activities and recreational competitions .. :D
I can describe Memphis as excellent service since the they welcome us at the Luxor airport, during the cruise, and until they get us to Aswan Airport.
Before transition to Hurghada, leader Alaa helped us to choose activities registered online by Memphis site to organize our stay schedule for 2 days, and also for our stay in Sharm.
Red Sea beyond description!
After reaching hotel by Memphis transport who met us in the airport of Hurghada exactly at time of landing.. Tour guide Mustafa helped having charging card for my mobile and so I was in contact with friends online all the time. He explained for us how to reach restaurants and shopping streets outside Hotel. I want to thank him again for the swimming tools and saving time instead of effort to search by myself to have it.
All tour guides were so friendly polite and helpful ^.^
At afternoon I enjoyed riding in Hurghada submarine, see the fish at the bottom of the Red Sea, and at evening Alf Leila Wa Leila. Next day we enjoyed swimming at beach of Hotel .. It was so clean and cool temperature. Relaxing sight :)
Last part of trip moving across the flight to Sharm el-Sheikh has been amazed by the magnitude of Hotel !! Tour guide Ahmad is the coolest one :D What we have done is a boat trip and Snorkeling at Ras Mohamed for a whole day time enjoying the transparent waters of the Red Sea and the scorching sun .. unforgettable day !
We did visit Mari Girgis Church and Mustafa Masged, the famous places in Sharm. And at night we enjoyed walking in Naama Bay.
They get us to the airport and that time was the end of Memphis tour company moving to Cairo to stay 4 days with our friends.
THANK YOU FOR WONDERFUL TIME EVER , LOVE & REGARDS ('',)

In Cairo we were met at the airport by our rep from Memphis Tours (can't remember his name). He was holding a sign with our name, and was very friendly. He showed us to the van we would be in for the day and introduced us to our driver, who's name I also can't remember. We drove through Cairo on the way to Giza. As we were crossing the Nile, we mentioned something about a picture, so our driver pulled over and we hopped out for a picture on the bridge. We were not expecting that, but what great service! Stopping traffic to snap a couple of pictures!
We drove on until we neared the Pyramids. We stopped to pick up our guide for the day Ahmed Farahat. It was at that time we also met our body gurad for the day, Omar. We were told that it's company policy to send a guard when there are children on the tour. I have no idea if that is true or not.
We drove up to the entrance to the Pyramids, and our guide told us that since we had Omar, we could drive in to the Pyramids, and all the way to the scenic viewing area. I guess Omar was an off duty police officer or something. Either way, he was great with the kids! We saw the Pyramids, the Sphinx, took lots of pictures, then headed off to our next stop, The Papyrus "Museum", then to the "bazaar". Having been on tours like this before, we knew these are just places to stop and get you to spend money. No big deal. Part of the experience. There was another stop, but we skipped it to get to lunch because the kids were hungry.
Lunch was at an OK restaurant on the Nile. It was a buffet, drinks not included. Not too impressed with that place.
After lunch we went to the Coptic Cathedral. That was pretty neat. No signs of trouble or danger. Omar kept us in front of him.
Next stop was the Egyptian Museum. The museum was pretty impressive. Ahmed told us that the 2011 revolution was good for us as tourists because there used to be a 1-2 hour wait to get into the room with King Tut's death mask, but this day we walked right in. No crowd at all! Tourism is WAY down in Egypt.
After the museum we headed back to the airport. When we got there, we met our original rep that met us there in the morning. He asked us if w had our boarding passes for the flight back to Hurghada, and we told him we never were given any. He got a little bit of a worried look, made some phone calls, and said it was taken care of, we just needed to wait for the ticket counter to open. When it opened, we were given a little earlier flight back.
When we got back to the airport in Hurghada, we were met again by Khaled.
Overall, the day was great! If you are looking to go to Cairo, or really anywhere that Memphis Tours goes, I would highly recommend them.
Hamada who went above the call of duty with getting my visa. What can I say about the accommodations, they where all fantastic from Giza to Aswan to Hurghada Luxor.
The guides were excellent and very knowledgeable. Friday in Aswan made sure everything went smoothly, and always had a good suggestion for what to do. I must say Rehab Samir and Mostafa Abuzad my guide and driver in Cairo and Alexandria, were outstanding. They made me feel so welcome and I felt like I was traveling with friends.
I would highly recommend Memphis Tours, they are fantastic. I felt very safe and didn't need to worry about a thing.
The guides and drivers were also very professional and friendly. They all had a strong command of the English language and were able to act not only as subject matter experts on the history of Egypt, but also to liaise with non-English speakers and provide cultural advice and situational awareness to the travelers within the tour groups. I also made lots of new friends and am grateful to everyone from Memphis Tours, in particular Shaimaa Baheeg, Tito/Tarek, Boogie and Amro. I am particularly thankful for the efforts of Tito/Tarek and Boogie in driving me around Cairo one evening to multiple locations in search of a shop which could provided printing and scanning services (something that appears to be surprisingly difficult to locate in Egypt).
Overall, I found Memphis Tours and its employees to be incredibly professional in all their undertakings and dedicated to assisting their clientele in any way possible. I would highly recommend Memphis Tours as a preferred tour operator for anyone contemplating a guided trip/holiday to Egypt.
From the moment I was met by Ahmed, impeccably dressed in his wrinkle free suit at 1am by the luggage carousel at Cairo airport, I knew this was going to be a good experience.
I have just returned from a 14 day Egypt & Red Sea tour and can only praise Memphis Tours for a very interesting, hassle free, professional tour where everything went according to plan and nothing was left to chance. The guides were knowledgeable, the drivers professional, the transport clean, the hotels excellent and the cruise very relaxing. To clarify the review below where there was criticism at being put together with other tourists on the Nile cruise - yes this does appear to happen if there are other people travelling with Memphis on the same day. A guide joins the ship with you in Aswan and takes you ashore at the various places as a Memphis group. You travel to the sites together (variously by van, horse and cart and small boat) and hear his commentary then you are free to wander around on your own. I personally did not find this too onerous. I ended up being with 3 others for a couple of hours in total out of 14 days and cannot really see what the fuss is about. Each to his own I guess.
In any event, I seriously urge anyone thinking of coming to Egypt to do so. There were so few tourists around that I felt as though each of the sites was being kept open just for me to visit - it really did feel like a 'private guided tour' in every sense of the word. Book now before the masses decide its time to go back to Egypt - you won't regret it!

A group of six, we have just returned from Egypt (April 19 to April 30) From the organizational stage until the end of our tour, I felt that our Memphis manager, guides and drivers, could not have done more to make our trip so memorable.
From the time that we were met at the airport by Ahmed I (do not have a last name of most of our Ahmeds) our trip was coordinated seamlessly. All our guides were knowledgable, patient, and had a sense of humour.
Ahmed II, in Cairo and Giza, guided us through the chaotic streets and sights of Cairo, giving us detailed information of the pyramids, museums, mosques and churches. Our van was excellently manouvered thru the congested streets of Cairo by Emat, (may be spelled wrong, sorry), who never lost his cool.
"Friday" was our guide for Abu Simbel and to a Nubian Village. Again, a wealth of information, he made my trip meaningful and fun. Abdul, our driver, both to Abul Simbel and Hurghada was a fabulous person.
Ahmed El Prince travelled with us on the "Alyssa", a very comfortable boat, that we enjoyed for three days. Ahmed skillfully guided us to such amazing sites as Aswan Damn, Valley of the Kings, Karnak, Luxor and many more. He was extremely knowledgable, attentive, organized, had a good sense of humour and comfortably paced our outings. Ahmed El Prince certainly enhanced this portion of our tour.
The last few days was spent in Hurghada at an amazing resort on the Red Sea. This was just what we needed at the time.
At each turn, our guides and/or drivers were in touch with head office in Cairo coordinating our every move.
The variety of transport made the trip even more fun, vans, camel, train, boat and horse and carriage made for exciting travel.
Our guides advised us on how to handle situations ie. vendors, tipping, buying, that helped to reduce the stress. Never did I feel threatened or unsafe in Egypt. Despite some disruptions, over the past year, one has to keep in mind how the media embellishes things.
I would highly recommend a trip to Egypt organized by the Memphis Tour Co..
Thanks to all the people at Memphis who made our trip one of the best that I have ever experienced. You are an A+ company with an incredibly efficient staff.

Memphis Tours did an excellent job of making our fifteen day tour of Egypt a pleasant experience.. We toured Cairo with Sayed Selim. He was well informed and helpful. We took two extra days and toured on our own to gain the Cairo experience. Several hours were spent at the Egyption Museum,. An incredible experience. We toured Tahrir square where the revolution started. We met only friendly Egyptions eager to welcome us to Egypt. Never did we feel uncomfortable. From Cairo we traveled to Aswan Dam for a tour of the dam and ABu Simbel temple. Then a river boat up the Nile to Luxor visiting among others the Valley of the Kings. Final stop before back to Cairo and home, was Hurghada. a beachfront site on the Red Sea for three days of rest and relaxation in a luxurius hotel. All our accomodations exceeded our expectations. Our tour Leader Ahmed El Sayed made every part ot the trip a pleasure.

Thanks - looking forward to it!
Though I have visited Egypt last year, my contact with the Magnificent Travel has helped me more in knowing the diverse culture of Egypt. I had discovered more of it's wonder and our visit in Egypt has helped me gain so much insight becsuse of the extraordinary tour provided by the Magnificent Travel. Thanks to Mohamed Sakr.
Our time in Cairo was pretty good. Our guide was very knowledgeable about all of the history and sites that she took up to. She engage my nephew's interest in Egyptian Mythology and was very patient with 4 year old niece. I was very disappointed that we were not taken to Khan el-Khalli- the largest souk/market in the country. This concerned me because she took up to 2 demonstration shops and not the but ran out of time for the market. When we mentioned this to Hamada, he was displeased and ensured that we would visit the following day.
I have mixed feelings about Alexandria. It seemed as though the suggested places that we asked to visit were ignored by her... as if there was a lack of understanding but we did learn a lot and enjoyed talking to her.
Our time in the Nile region was excellent! We loved being on the Alyssa Floating Hotel! Everything was great... the food, the crew, the rooms, the other passengers! I would recommend this craft to all other Memphis Tour travelers. The 3 day cruise was my favorite part of my 10 days in Egypt.
It helped that we had a great Egyptologist! Alaa Elsawy was AWESOME! As smart as he is cool! He was able to manage an older American couple, a scarf-a-holic Nubian queen, a 20 year old Egyptian Mythology enthusiast, the mother and an energetic 4 year old! He help us all to have a better understanding of the mind boggling 4000+ years of Egyptian history... from temple to temple and valley to valley-- taking time to just stop and hang out in the Nubian Village or a tea house while we shopped for more treasures! What I really appreciated is the dedication to scholarship. Simply Superb!
I have come back to the states telling all of my friend/family- that if you plan on going to Egypt go with Memphis Tours!
sights to making sure I was taken care of, you guys did it all. I think Memphis is one of the few tour companies that allow you to see all the historical sights. The flexibility was also pretty great! It was nice to know that this was my tour and I could change things around if I wanted to. Often it's difficult to get the attention that you want if you're traveling in big groups. Having a private guide who takes the time to explain everything and makes sure you are comfortable is integral for any trip. All the guides and tour leaders, Maha, Rehab, Kabir, Abdul, just to name a few, were all fantastic and treated me with the utmost professionalism and friendliness. It is unfortunate that people are not visiting Egypt for fear of
post-revolutionary violence. As a young woman traveling alone, I can honestly attest to having had a delightful and safe experience. I recommend Memphis Tours to any and all travelers who want to visit Egypt! Thanks for a great time!
We were set to go, we were just looking for the best flight to get to Egyp, and then the protests started in Tahir Square again. The media reporting violence and many deaths and injuries. We got "cold feet" I emailed Mr Sakr with my concerns. He very quickly responded, advised us of the situation, explained that all the violence is confined to this one spo,t and assured us that we will be safe. He also advised us that we can take our time deciding. He never pushed for us to committ. We waited til the elections were over and decided we were going to go. I emailed Mr Sakr again changed the dates and he very quickly changed the itinerary to accomodate us. While searching for the best way to get there I found a stop over in Jordan , figured why not see Petra while we are there, emailed Mr Sakr to see if it could be arranged , sure enough it could be, we got the itinerary for this extra excursion right away. Then we decided to fly Air France instead. We booked our trip finally. You would think that that was it, well we found out about the Mena House , we wanted to stay there , once again, all it took was an email to Mr Sakr and it was done.
The reason I went into details like that is to show how professional, patient, knowlegable Memphis Tours is, and Mr Sakr deserves a medal. I wasn't the easiest customer, I would have given up on me long time ago. Even my husband finally said to leave the "poor guy alone" We are very excited to visit Egypt and if the tour just as good as the pre travel arrangements, it looks like it is going to be a trip of a life time. Trip that I don't think would have happened if it wasn't for our wonderful tour coordinator, who put our fears to rest and was very patient during this long process. (I don't think the guy ever sleeps, with the time difference between Egypt and Canada most of our communications happened at 3 am Egypt time) And so we are off.
Memphis Tours was very professional. Met us on time, delivered what they promised. The guides were more than knowledgeable and patient. You won't go wrong with any of them. Their love for their county and its history is genuine. You would do well to familiarize yourself with Egyptian gods, and the different ruling dynasties before you go. Accommodations aboard ship were clean and the food was fine. I'd never been on a river cruise.....it is truly "smooth" sailing.
We had been warned about the hawkers trying to sell you everything. Be persistent and you will get through the crowd. Your guide is a huge help with this. But they can be very persistent and at times annoying. Just don't make eye contact. Take lots of $1 USD bills or exchange for a lot of 5 pound notes used for tipping everyone.
Special thanks to Mr Maged Al Gohary who planned our itinerary according to our request.
Our tour rep, Mr Tamer Ghullab who ensured we have the safest and most enjoyable journey possible.
Our guide Rania Yahia who filled our tour visits to the pyramids and the museum with so much fun!
Our guide to Luxor and Aswan, Mr Alaa ElSawy. He provided us with great information on ancient Egyptian history and handled our queries effectively. We enjoyed our temple and tombs visits with him. All the queries that I have with regards to ancient egyptian ruins were answered in this trip. We had great fun and will definitely engage the services of Memphis tour in our next visit to Egypt!.
real quality conscious tour operator. We wanted to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and so booked a 8 day whirlwind private tour to absorb as much as we can of this great country with stopovers in Cairo, Aswan and Luxor. The tour guides Amany in Cairo (whom we particularly recommend) and Nasser in Aswan/Luxor were walking Egyptian history encyclopaedias’ making for a very lively interactive experience. Our overall tour guide Hussien also was very meticulous and particular in ensuring our comfort every step of the way. The vehicles and hotels selected for us (Mena House Oberoi both times) and cruise boat (Sabena, Jamila) too were top notch. The shopping arranged for us – perfume, papyrus and carpets was also quality. In all cannot recommend Memphis tours high enough. Lastly do not miss the hot air balooning option in Luxor – getting up at 5:00 a.m. was worth it many times over for the breathtaking sunrise over the Arabian desert.
The trip was wonderful from the word go. I was met at the Cairo airport by Mohammad Abdo who was assigned to me as my guest relations person. I was transferred to the hotel and explained in detail about my trip starting the next day. I was given a mobile phone that was charged enough to make 30 mins worth of local calls. This helped me to keep in touch with Mohammed whenever required. The hotels and the boat I was put up in through out the trip were good std...the food was good..the guides were excellent...here I must mention Ahmed during the cruise and another Ahmed in Cairo and Alexandria. Both were extremely knowledgeable and were ready to answer all my queries untiringly. Imad at Luxor was also great company. Through out the trip I was well looked after and felt really safe. Everything was planned to the last detail and I did not have to worry about anything...made my trip relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable!!!! Thank you memphis tours, Maged, Mohamed, Ahmed and Imad!!!!!!
When you visit Hurgadha, there are two restaurants you would not want to miss (Ce Elsayeed, Star Fish). These were awesome!!! also you do not want to miss the hot air balloon ride in Luxor at dawn. The scenery was breathtaking.
The only thing you have to be careful about is people trying to sell you things when you visit the top attactions/El Mamsha street in Hurgadha. Make sure not to talk to any one of these guys, because if you do you end up buying things and they are very persuasive. If you do want to buy something make sure you bargain. Just give you an idea, we bought some gifts for our friends and the initial price given to us was like 250EGP, but in the end we got it for less than half of the price that was quoted.
I would definetely recommend Memphis tours to anyone who is planning to visit Egypt. Do not be put off by the bad press.
Tripadvisor. We arranged our 10 day/9 night trip via email with our
personal tour consultant, Abdo Younis. This process went very
smoothly, even with our changes and questions, and we were
provided a detailed day by day itinerary.
We were greeted at the airport by our Cairo coordinator, Hamada Amir.
Hamada escorted us to our hotel , got us checked in, gave us a cell
phone for the duration of our trip, and went over the next day’s
itinerary. Hamada or his counterparts, Mustafa in Aswan, and Ahmed in Luxor were always there to greet us and make sure we made it to our next destination.
Memphis had everything covered, we were always met by a trip coordinator, a guide, or both. It was always a Memphis Tours van and driver that took us from place to place when needed. This company really has it’s stuff together.
Also, a word on the guides who actually escort you and explain the history and context of the sites. Our favorite was a young Egyptologist named Mohamed Emam who was our guide for the Aswan to Luxor cruise portion of our trip. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable about these temples and tombs, he has a genuine passion for the subject. He was also a lot of fun.
We had a female tour guide in Alexandria and for the Cairo Museum named Rania Yahia who was also very friendly and knowledgeable.
We rode camels and horses beside the Giza pyramids at dawn, toured the
pyramids inside and out, the sphinx, the step pyramid, Ramses II
statue at Memphis, Abu Simbel, Aswan High Dam, Philae temple, the
Unfinished Obelisk, Valley of the Kings, Temple of Queen Hatshepsut,
Karnak & Luxor temples, Hot Air Balloon Ride in Luxor, Tombs of the Nobles, Alexandria, Qaitbay Citadel, Catacombs, Cairo Museum. We stayed at Le Meridien Pyramids Resort, Movenpick Aswan Hotel, Jaz Minerva Cruise.
If you go to Egypt, make sure you see Abu Simbel. It is worth the 3 1/2 hour ride or you could fly.
Despite the concern of pretty much everyone that we told we were going to Egypt, we never felt the slightest bit insecure the entire time we were there.
The trip exceeded our expectations and I would like to thank Hamada, Mustafa, and Ahmed, along with our drivers (Osama, Saeed, etc) for taking such good care of us.
To all those looking for a similar kind or an exhaustive trip in Egypt I would recommend just go ahead and book yourselves with Memphis Tours.
Wait and watch for my further review once I return from the trip.

Magnificent temples and structures. History! History! You’re walking in the same areas as the great queens and kings. King Tut’s Tomb…. The Egyptians do their best to welcome visitors to their land. The accommodations might not be as extravagant as you are used too but they are doing the best they can.
Con’s
Hassling by the merchants. Horrible at times. Listen to your guide and don’t let it spoil your trip. A kind “no” and keep walking is the best advice. Our guide let us know of the best places to buy where you could stop and look without the pressure.
Again special thanks to Memphis Tours and the boat crew. Thank you Abdo Yunnis for responding to my emails in a timely manner and making me feel like I was your only client. Thank you to the ship’s crew. Food was great and so was the service. Sayed Selim, our new Egyptian brother, You ROCK! Everyone keep up the great work and I hope to visit Egypt again very soon.
We had our most relaxing vacation with Memphis tours. We had 15 days trip starting with Nile Cruise from Luxor to Aswan, Cairo sightseeing and then, diving at Hurghada. Our Tour consultant, Ms. Fattoush Saad helped us plan the travel in advance and was really quick in answering our mails/phones.
M/S Nile Dolphin cruise from Luxor for 5D/4N (full-board):
+ The crew was friendly and we got surprises at our rooms from house-keeping services every evening. At the restaurant, they were very quick in making a seperate vegetarian dinner for us,on request. The food was the best we had during our travel.
+ Rehab , the tour guide was very flexible on sightseeing tours as per our interests and gave us lot of time to click photos around. She was fun and also told interesting stories related to temples.
- She was not a very good help regarding tipping or bargaining. Instead of saying "you may tip x amount. or usually people tip x amount", it was sometimes more like "x amount is minimum that you should tip". This made us feel very uncomfortable. She also took us to an albastar workshop, but didn't tell us beforehand that how hard we should bargain. Later, we realised that we ended up paying a lot even after bargaining.
- We opted for Nubian village tour at Aswan with other tour guide, Muhammed. This tour was a total rip-off of 30$/person, as it happened on Friday. On Friday, all people in village went for praying and we were not informed about it by Memphis tours or tour guide. We came to know about this when we reached the village.
LeMeridien, Giza for 4D/3N (bed and breakfast):
+ Awesome hotel with warm pool
+ Amr,the tour guide at Cairo, gave us lots of tips about where can we go on our leisure time or where should we eat or taxi charges. One thing we liked about him was that he always would tell us where to bargain and he was not pushy for tipping.
Sea star beau rivage,Hurghada 6D/6N (full-board):
+ Nice beach, nice hotel, nice food, warm pool
+ PADI open water course was fun with Alios diving center.
- Snorkelling with Paradise Center. The trip included 2-3hours rest at private beach, Paradise Island. This was my wife's first ever experience for snorkelling and she was looking forward to it. But, it was quite a disappointment. Many corals there were dead and she saw very less fishes. The island was lovely with beautiful sea. For this Memphis tours charged 30 Euro/person, which again was not worthy.
The pick-ups happened always on time (as per German punctuality). All the booking of hotel/bus/train/car were made before hand. As we booked private guided package with Memphis tours, we were accompanied by a driver and tour guide everytime. They also provided us with a local phone with 30 mins of local talktime, this helped in being with contact with tour guides whenever needed. Overall, we were satisfied by their services and would recommend them.
I just completed booking a family trip for Christmas. Marwa Samir at Memphis was very helpful and patient. We added a side trip to the Red Sea in addition to the usual cairo and Nile cruise. It was so helpful to have someone in Egypt who could coordinate and advise us on the options.
Fatima organised an impressive itinerary for our 12 day trip to Egypt covering Cairo, the pyramids, compulsory camel ride, Nile cruise and ending with diving in the Red Sea. The organisation was fantastic from being collected at the airport by Mohamed to finding our lost luggage! I would recommend this helpful, friendly and knowledgeable company to anyone. Special thanks go to our guides, Mohamed and Mustafa is Cairo and especially Ahmed 'El Prince' throughout the Nile cruise. They kept us interested, informed and amused. The diving was awesome in Hurgadha. This was our first holiday without the kids and we sure had fun. Thank you Memphis.

We were on a tight timeframe and wanted to get a lot of the important attractions done in a short amount of time. We normally go out on our own but figured we should get a tour guide for this trip. Memphis tours was excellent from beginning to end, allowing us to maximize our time, explain all the sights, and make an enjoyable experience.
Mr Bassem Saad answered all of my e-mails quickly and was very accomodating, helping with planning and details, etc. He even changed our airport transfer last minute when our flight changed.
Pick-up and transfer to the hotel was flawless, and I have to give credit to our driver in Cairo, Mr Mohammed, as the traffic is insane! Nice car with good aircon was much appreciated. The two days spent seeing the sights in and around Cairo was amazing thanks to our guide Moustaf. Very organized and efficient (which we would not have been had we tried to do this on our own!) He gave us great information about all of the sights and let us take as much time as we wanted snapping pics and poking around. He was even able to arrange last minute flight to Luxor for us when I got the Pharoh's revenge!
We were met by our Memphis rep Hassan at the Luxor airport and transferred to the hotel so I could recoup. Once again the driver, rep and tour guide in Luxor did a fabulous job giving us as much time and information as we could want about the area. We never felt rushed and saw so many great sites like Karnak, valley of the kings, etc. Thanks to Mr Achmed for being such a wonderful guide.
After Luxor, we were transferred to Hurghada and finally said good-bye to Hassan and Memphis tours. Well done from beginning to end. We highly recommend Memphis and can't wait to go back and see more of Egypt. The people are wonderful and are obviously glad to see tourists returning. We always felt safe and so glad we went!

So we actually booked out trip through Petra Night Tours (PNT) in Jordan who use Memphis Tours in Egypt, hence I cannot comment too much on the booking process as PNT dealt directly with them.
We choose to stay 4 nights in Cairo (Excl the night stopover to Amman), 2 nights (each) in Aswan, Luxor and Hurghada. An initial list of hotels were provided but we changed most of the hotels to ones tripadvisor had rated highly (you can see them if you look at my reviews). The process of dealing with the hotels we wanted was seamless and handled well with a minimal increase in price.
The actual trip was brilliant. They meet you before immigrations and walk you through the process and assist with baggage. This is a great help as it saves you from dealing with the harassment of taxi drivers!
We kept one tour leader, guide and driver in most of the places, which was nice as we got comfortable with the people we knew. Everyone we met from Memphis was brilliant but people I have to mention was our driver Ashraf in Cairo, Mustafa in Aswan (he is young and playful- so be warned- but he is great fun to be around) and his colleague Mahmoud who organised a suprise birthday cake for my wife, Sabry in Luxor (thanks for the birthday gifts), Hamdi in Hurghada (he helped get a new set of frames when my existing glasses broke) and Ahmed Osman in Cairo who was responsible for overseeing our whole trip and kept on checking up on us.
However what I must wholeheartedly recommend is requesting the guide Ahmed Ameen (now our friend)- he was with us from Aswan and did the Nile cruise to Luxor with us. He is knowlegable, friendly and extremely helpful. It seems like he has a brilliant reputation as all the memphis offices have heard of him and his reputation as a guide precedes him.
A really nice touch, was that Memphis provides you with a local cell on arrival so you can stay in touch with them and also provides a cheaper alternative for family to call to.
So without writing an essay- this is the way to travel in Egypt- no hassles with transport and everything being done privately!

Memphis Tours has provided the best and most flexible service so far with a very reasonable price.
Abdo Shawky has been the Memphis Tours agent assisting me with our travel plans for a 14 day trip throughout Egypt. He has been excellent, timely and a ton of help. The pre-planned tours suggested by Memphis tours are great because they are flexible. Abdo was able to provide us with an amazing itinerary covering all of the major sites that still offers some down time at the beach!
I am very much looking forward to this vacation and trust that if the service we have received so far is any indication of the trip – we are going to have a great time.
Memmo was our contact person throughout the 3 weeks and we cannot praise him highly enough for his cheerful demeanour, willingness to help, always available by cell phone (which Memphis provided for us) and all in all, a fun guy to be with. As our trip involved three different dates into and out of Cairo, Meemo was always there to greet us (along with our Cairo driver Mohammed), no matter what the time of day, the four of us had lots of laughs and it felt like we were travelling with old friends. We were sad to say goodbye to them at the airport.
Besides Cairo, we visited Aswan, Abu Simbel, spent 3 nights on the Nile Dolphin cruise ship, Luxor and the Siwa Oasis. Our trip was amongst the best we have ever taken, and Memphis Tours made everything run like clockwork.
The other guides we used (through Memphis) were also excellent and extremely knowledgeable about the history of Egypt. In particular, we would like to thank Ahmed El Prince who was our guide on the Nile cruise and he was absolutely fantastic, lots of fun and made the stories of the temples come to life. He really knew his stuff.
We highly recommend Memphis and would use them again in an instant.
When we requested a king bed with a view of the pyramid, our airport rep, Mimo, made sure it happened.
We were lucky enough to get an amazing Egyptologist in Cairo, Ayman Elshafie, who was incredibly knowledgeable, genuinely nice, and keen on making sure our needs were met at all times. He has a PhD in Egyptology, and could not have been a better person to guide us through the Egyptian antiquities museum. He knew the history about every single treasure found in King Tut's tomb. He was also brilliant to tour the Citadel, Hanging Church and Synagogue with. When we asked bout carpets, he didn't hesitate to veer from the itinerary and take us to Sakkara where they have carpet weaving schools, workshops and stores. When we asked for Egyptian cotton, papyrus and jewelry, he took us to a top-notch places, and we left with treasures that we'll have for a lifetime. He helped us navigate and negotiate prices at the Khan al Khalili market, after his shift was over, when he could've gone home hours before. He was totally refreshing at his job, and we wanted to bring him on our next stop, the Nile Cruise.
Our driver in Cairo, Mohamed, was also fantastic. Navigating the streets of Cairo requires stunt-man skills, and he did it with grace. And when we wanted a cheap and fast meal, he recommended a fast food mom and pop owned chain where we had a schwarma combo meal, which ended up being our favorite meal in Cairo.
When it was time to leave Cairo, Mimo met us again before getting on the sleeper train to Aswan, and saw us off. He also gave us the cell phone which was helpful, as I needed to call my bank, and coordinate times for pickups for the rest of the trip. The sleeper train was an experience. Cool to hear the call to prayer in some stops, so close as if it were right in the train with us.
The Nile Cruise was amazing, and we got another great guide, Ahmed El Prince, who also loved his job. He gave us fun quizzes about the temples, was a fun character and also passionate about Egyptology.
Our last stop was Hurghada, where we chilled out for a few days in the Red Sea, at leisure. Our Memphis guide was great - he took us to a supermarket so we could buy water and soda for cheap instead of at the hotel. We scheduled a snorkeling trip via Memphis, and they promptly picked us up and got us back to the hotel at the end of the day.
Thank you Memphis for a wonderful journey that we'll never forget!
We'll never forget the warm and very profesional relation of Mr. Ahmed and Mr. Ashraf who did all to make our holliday unforgetable. In our next time in Egypt we'll use the serveces of Memphis tours again and will be glad if the same people care about us and our holiday.
The reaservation process with Fatma (Memphis tours on-line agent) was excellent, everything was well explained, so we didn't have any surprises.
Our group (9 adults and 2 kids) made the tours in a private van with driver and guide (speaking Portuguese - very good surprise) and we spent a great time visiting all we had programed and more (day trip to Alexandria; dinner cruise in the Nile and day trip in Cairo).
Thank you Memphis Tours Egypt!
When the day arrived everything went perfectly to plan. The lifts were waiting and it was a pleasure and a surprise to be greeted at Cairo airport by an agent and a driver for Memphis Tours , who then proceeded to explain the outline of the day.
The trip round Cairo way exceeded my expectations and we visited all the places we wanted to see. Ourr Egyptologist was knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions. We also had the option of visiting any extra places that our time permitted. The advantage of having a private tour.
I have no hesitation in recommending Memphis Tours to anyone who wants a personal professional service and VIP treatment. I returned to Hurghada feeling relaxed after the trip where everything was pre-arranged.
Jason
I, my cousins and my daughter want to highlight to you the high professionality and dedication of ALL the Memphis tours representatives who have taken care of ourselves during the whole tour.
Among all Memphis Representatives, we want to do a special mention to the dedication and help given to us by both Mr Ahmed of Aswan and Mr. Ahmed of Luxor, realising a very good and professional job who always leaves your company on a very high position.
We want also to thank all the guides provided by Memphis, all of them have been very professional, helpfull, polite, human, and extremely patient with our questions to them (Jazmine in Luxor has a deep knowledge of egypcian archeology and speaks very fluent spanish).
And at the end we want to thank your, Mr. Fayez, for all your advices and patience in preparing our tour. I will recommend your agency services to interested people who will ask me for a travel through Egypt.
Many, many thanks and I do not disregard to come back to your marvellous country again, in these case we will be in contact. Take care !!!!
