I plan to make the trip eventually, hopefully Abdo will be on hand to help me out then.
Thank you

Everything was perfect: our guides and drivers. Memphis Tours met all my expectations. Thanks.
This tour was good but there were a few disappointing things that kept it from being great. The train took longer than expected so we had to shift a few things around.
My family and I really enjoyed our experience in Egypt. Our tour guide and Our tour leader were very knowledgeable and very well spoken. We really enjoyed their company from the time we landed in Egypt until the time we left.
The tour guide was amazing, very good knowledge, so caring and very kind. I would highly recommend this trip!
Great tour! Highly recommend!
Thank you Memphis tour again for giving us all a excellent experience and memories we will cherish for life:)
Miss You all and promise to visit again......
During our trip we had two Egyptologists- Mr. Mahdy in Cairo, and Sayed Selim during our Nile cruise. Both of them were absolutely fantastic! They provided wonderful information about each site that we visited, and also helped with so many other aspects of our trip- taking pictures, buying water/snacks, exchanging money, and even bartering for souvenirs! I would highly recommend both Mahdy and Sayed, and we are extremely thankful that we had them as guides.
We have been lucky enough to travel all over the world, and both of us agree that this is the best trip we have ever taken! This is in large part due to Memphis Tours, and all the great people that worked hard to make sure our trip was fun, safe, and relaxing. We can't wait to return to Egypt and take another vacation with Memphis Tours. Thanks! Eric
Chris and I arrived in Egypt at different times. Memphis was very accommodating and for a small fee we were each met at the gate at our respective times. Ahmed Badawi met each of us outside the gate and helped us get our visa on arrival, exchange money and exit through passport control. With his help the process was very efficient and stress free. We were then taken by private car to our hotel and at the end of our trip returned to the airport when it was time for us to depart..
In Cairo/Giza we stayed at Mena house and were very happy with the accommodations. They gave us excellent service and we had a nice, clean room on the ground floor with a view of the pyramids. The gift shops near the lobby of the hotel had nice cartouches at affordable prices! The Alyssa cruise ship was our next stop and it was wonderful as well. The rooms were clean, the food was good, and the sun deck was lovely. Spending time in one of the cabanas on the deck was very relaxing and the curtains provided shade from the sun and a little privacy. The views were beautiful and it was nice to see the daily life of those who live along the Nile. I would highly recommend staying both at Mena house and the Alyssa cruise ship.
On our trip we had a number of tour guides while traveling and each of them was excellent. All were very knowledgeable and we felt safe at all times during our trip. The tour guides that we worked with were Ahmed, Yessar, and Hend. Each of them was extremely professional as well as knowledgeable. I would recommend requesting a tour with any of them!
As a solo traveler, I am always very cautious of who I connect with abroad. I am truly fortunate to have connected with Mohamed Sakr at Memphis Tours Egypt. He has been very kind, persistent, extremely patient, and prompt with his responses to all my many questions. I have booked the Budget Vacation & Nile Cruise by Train. I hope to meet Mohamed Sakr so that I can thank him in person. Thank you so much for all your help Mohamed. I truly appreciate it.
If you are debating whether to book with Memphis Tours, go ahead and do it. They’ve been in existence 55 years and they’ve got it down. We have travelled quite a bit on our own and do not usually do tours. But in a place like Egypt we felt safer going with a tour and being with other people. Memphis Tours was the perfect solution.
I read the few bad reviews before booking and they are written by people who say they knew more than the tour guides (so why go on a tour?) and brought thousands of dollars of jewellry (not too smart on any trip!) and resented the sales pitches you get at the carpet school or the alabaster factory (get a grip and a sense of humor!).
If you’re an Egyptologist don’t book with them. But for people who have never been there and want to see the main sights and get an overview of the country while feeling safe the whole time (they even give you a cell phone to carry with you so you can contact them at any time for any reason), Memphis Tours is the ticket!
They made good on every promise. Every single representative we came in contact with was excellent.
Maged Al Goghary was our booking agent and he handled our arrangements. We were coming from the States and our nephew was coming from Denmark. We insisted that we be booked together on everything. He handled our separate e-mails, questions and payments perfectly. Ask for him.
Ahmed El Sayed met us with his mega-watt smile and pink tie as we came off the plane. He immediately took over everything and had us all laughing and talking as we drove into Cairo. When there was a booking snafu at our original hotel he got us checked into an even nicer hotel at no extra charge. When he was stuck in traffic and couldn’t be there to pick us up for the Giza Light Show he sent a colleague to get us there on time. He took us to the Giza train station for the trip to Aswan and was there to pick us up when we returned. Always on time, always in control, always smiling and with a great sense of humor we felt like we were saying goodbye to a friend at the end of our tour when he returned us to Cairo airport. Ask for him, you will not be disappointed.
Ahmed A. Hameed was our personal tour guide in Cairo. He was not just versed in Egyptian history but answered all our questions about Egyptian politics, religion and the economy. A practised conversationalist you can ask him anything. He made sure we got a fair price on our camel ride and even gave me a coin to toss in the “wishing well” at the Sphinx. He also coached us on how to handle the vendors and what to shop for at the Khaan El Khalili Bazaar. We always felt like we were in good hands with him. Ask for him.
Ahmed El-Prince (I think you mst be named Ahmed in order to work for Memphis Tours!) was our tour guide on the Nile cruise. A snappy dresser with color coordinated sunglasses for every outfit he was clearly passionate about Egyptian history but there was much more to him than that. He had a good sense of humor and taught us some Egyptian words. He coached us on what to tip and when. He got us a refund and a free scarf when he thought we’d been over charged by a vendor. He told a guard to let me back in the building when I wanted to use the restroom. He was infinitely patient with our picture taking and even asked to be included when we all lined up to “walk like an Egyptian” for a shot. He even taught us how to smoke a waterpipe. On our last day with him we all went to Al-Sahaby Lane, a restaurant in Luxor, where we sat in the shade and ate and laughed and talked and exchanged e-mail addresses. An excellent and entertaining guide who always made us feel safe and taken care of... ask for him.
Here are a couple of tips for travelling in Egypt:
You have to tip everybody for everything and sometimes its hard to get enough small denominations in Egyptian Pounds. Take a lot of American one dollar bills. They all accept them and want them and its just about the right amount for many of the tips (one dollar is the equivalent of 5-6 Egyptian Pounds).
For women. If you’re travelling with Memphis Tours do not worry about the restrooms. The hotels and cruise ship are fine of course. But so is the Egyptian Museum, the lunch restaurants, most of the historical sites and places like the Carpet factory. Just in case, for peace of mind, take camper’s toilet seat covers, extra toilet tissue and something called “Urinelles” in your purse and you’re ready for anything. Also, don’t forget you’ll probably have to tip someone.

We decided on a quick trip to Egypt on our way home to the US from another country in the region. Memphis Tours was amazing from start to finish. Mohamed Sakr was great in arranging the trip. Hamada was a complete professional and very helpful at the airport and hotel check-in. Mustafa was a fantastic driver, and Amany the best tour guide we could have hoped for. Despite the political upheaval and uncertainty in Egypt right now, we never felt unsafe in any way. People are looking forward to the elections and there is a sense of optimism about the country's future. Highly recommend Memphis Tours.

My husband and I used Memphis tours for our Egypt trip and were very impressed with all aspects of their service. We were on the 8 day ‘Budget tour’ but actually nothing about it felt budget – we got accommodation upgrades to 5 star hotels the whole way and were treated like kings!
From the moment we touched down in Cairo we were greeted promptly at the airport by our tour manager ‘Tamer’ who ensured we had all the travel arranged as we wanted it and checked us in at our hotel. Tamer was also wonderful at meeting us for other transfers including our train to Luxor and our return to the airport. In such a busy and occasionally unstable city, we greatly appreciated being escorted for all of these transfers. And for all our transfers, not only was there a private car and driver, but there was always a tour manager there to meet us. In Luxor, we met ‘Ruby’ who also did a wonderful job of this (even meeting us off the train at 5:15am!)
The sightseeing tours were incredible – I just can’t believe we were able to receive a fully private tour from a tertiary trained tour guide/historian. In Cairo, ‘Nasrin’ gave us a wonderful tour of the museum, Pyramids, Sphinx and Coptic Cairo and was able to answer all of our intrigued questions. Our driver in Cairo, ‘Osama’ was also very lovely and entertaining – ensuring we made it safely through the crazy traffic. In Luxor ‘Ayman’ gave us an excellent tour of the Karnak temple, Luxor temple, Queen Hatshepsut’s temple, the valley of the Kings and Queens – fascinating places. Then in Hurghada we were able to enjoy a quiet couple of days by the Red Sea and ‘Hamdi’ ensured we had assistance when needed.
All of the Memphis team were very professional and reliable. I would strongly recommend this company to anyone considering a trip to Egypt. We were seriously impressed and pleased with our trip!

1. Reservation (Fatima Sayed)
- We started planning the tour just one week before the actual tour. The agent titled above has prepared several options about our trip quickly. It was really helpful to make a plan during such a short period.
2. Guide (Ms. Saeed)
- Our guide had deep insight and knowledge about ancient Egypt. She did not give us just a simple expalnation. For instance, she explained a couple of theories concerning the shape of the Sphinx with what she believed. I liked it as a scientist.
3. Driver (Forgot his name)
- I found that the traffic situation in Cairo was not good. Nevertheless, the driver, I know, had tried to give us a very comfortable and safe ride.
I appreciate all their efforts.
I am sure that Memphis Tour can provide something beyond whatever tourists want.
My wife and I are just back from a short but wonderful holiday in Egypt and we wish we could have stayed longer. After having concerns about visiting Egypt we have no regrets whatsoever. We started our tour in Aswan to Luxor by different means of transportation which made it very exciting with no time to get bored, our tour guide named Mohamed Emam was outstanding, very professional and very well suited as we were eager for detailed historic facts about ancient Egypt. We would highly recommend Mohamed Emam if you ever want to visit the Southern part of Egypt. Mohamed paid attention to every detail and makes you feel so welcomed and makes your trip memorable and relaxed. We got on the Nile Dolphin Cruise, which was very well organised, there was assorted food at each meal and it was all very well prepared. Egyptian people have a great sense of humor and they treated us with respect and kindness. We were so pleased with the Memphis team that we booked additional activities such as a hot air balloon ride in Luxor and a day tour in Cairo. Our tour guide there, Ahmed Farahat, was also great, friendly and helpful. Thanks again for a well coordinated effort and we recommend Memphis tours to anybody who wants to travel to Egypt as it is worth your time and it is money well spent. Looking forward to going back to Egypt soon.

The whole visit was organised with great efficiency. The logistics worked impeccably, with guides and cars always there when promised. The guides were very informative, particularly given that this was our first visit to Egypt, and overall we had an excellent introduction to the country. The guide was particularly valuable in Cairo, which would be a very difficult city to navigate around on one's own.
The Nile Dolphin cruiser was clean and comfortable, and my children in particular appreciated the extensive and tasty buffet food.
On the issue of security, we saw nothing which led us to have any serious concerns about our safety. The lower number of tourists in Cairo, whilst not helpful for the Egyptian tourist industry, made our trip easier (we had been told that the Tutankamun room in the Cairo museum was normally heaving, but we practically had the room to ourselves).
In general - many thanks to Memphis Tours for organising a very memorable and enjoyable holiday!
I arranged a tour with Memphis several months in advance at an incredible price--I really couldn't believe it when I saw it (<1000USD for 7 days). Going alone I felt that staying with a tour company was the safest way to spend time in Egypt and I think it was a very good decision. While I was rather confused whenever I arrived in Cairo and, later, in Aswan because I wasn't provided with a cell phone on arrival in Egypt, I was promptly found by the tour representatives. The accommodations (hotels and whatnot) exceeded my expectations, but as a rather budget-wary student, I suppose my expectations weren't that high to begin with.
The tour through Cairo was quite good. Sherwet Ali, my tour guide, was extremely knowledgeable and quite admirable when she kept yelling at people taking pictures in the Egyptian Museum--she really loves her country's history and culture. While I was a tad disappointed that we didn't have time to see the rest of Cairo (only saw the Museum and Pyramids/Sphinx), I suppose that was my fault because I didn't pay enough attention to the schedule and was not forthcoming enough with what I wanted to see.
The cruise from Aswan to Luxor was very relaxing but the cruising itself was underwhelming. There really was only one and a half night of actual traveling on the boat and the first night and last night we were just docked in Aswan and Luxor, respectively. Not a complaint, though, just an observation for potential travelers keen on the "cruise" aspect of the Nile. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the temples tremendously and was repeatedly taken aback by the impressive skill the Ancient Egyptians employed to construct these beautiful and mysterious buildings (Edfu and Karnak especially). Ahmed (I forgot his last name, sorry) was great and took care of us (I shared the cruise tour with four other people), but sometimes I felt like he didn't answer our questions quite clearly. That is more of a miscommunication on both our parts than a deliberate attempt to avoid the "harder" questions about the sites.
Tips for people doing tours in Egypt: do be forthcoming and a lil demanding with regards to what is in your schedule or what is included, a lot of the time the details get lost because everyone is so busy. Be wary of hawkers in the touristy areas--it really tries your patience at how aggressive they can be--they're only trying to make a living in this "global trickle down economics" industry, so be sensitive to that reality as well.
Anyhow, Egypt was great and unforgettable. I might go back again some day and do a desert trek tour and really go rough--I think it was far too easygoing this time around!

We loved our custom trip that Memphis Tours put together for us! It was a last minute trip and we only had 7 days total. We made all of the arrangements online. All of our guides were thoughtful and helpful from the moment we arrived at the airport until the moment they dropped us off at the airport. We did a Nile Cruise and spent a couple of days in Cairo. It was so easy!!
We highly recommend them - especially if you havenever travelled in the region before!

Memphis tours arranged everything with high professionalism.I want to thank you to our professional tour operator Mr. Mohammed Sakr.I was sending e-mail's to him and asking lot's of question's.and he responded to my e-mail's 24 hour's.
Special thanks for Mr. Hamdy Fayez, who organized our activities in Hurghada.
Also our guide, Ms. Rehab Samir, in Cairo, was a real professional and fun to be with ensuring successful visit.
The staff of memphis tours, did excellent Job and made our vacation fun, enjoyable and stress free.we are very much satisfied with memphis tours service.
If you want to visit Egypt.and you want to enjoy your vacation without any stress and bad surprises.i can recommend you to use memphis tours services.
We booked a small group tour with Memphis Tours to do an 8-day trip which included Cairo and a Nile cruise. After the protests in January 2011, we had concerns about our booking, and Ahmed, at Memphis Tours, provided very responsive customer service to address all of our concerns and needs. No question went unanswered, and no detail was too small to address! I wish that all tour companies operated in this manner.
When we arrived in Cairo, we were greeted very warmly by the Memphis Tours representatives. Memphis Tours was very prompt in transporting us for tours and our guides, Mahmoud and Sayed, were very friendly and very knowledgeable. It worked out very well that tourism had declined because we did not experience any crowds. During our trip, it was very hot, so the complimentary bottles of water during the tours and at the hotels were very much welcome. We sampled Egyptian cuisine during our stay and developed a liking for Aysh and Om Ali. Egypt is a must-see destination, especially for lovers of history, culture, architecture, and adventure.
We highly recommend Memphis Tours to anyone looking to travel to Egypt or other destinations offered by Memphis Tours. The customer service is top notch because they go the extra mile and make you feel at ease. We never felt unsafe and had an amazing experience!!
[An aside: for those who are looking to do a Nile cruise, make sure to do your research. From my own research, the best cruises to book are the Mayfair, Abercrombie & Kent's, Oberoi, Sonesta, Movenpick, River Tosca, and Jaz Minerva/Legacy. Otherwise, the ship should be built within the last 2 years. All Nile cruise ships are not created equal, even those with the 5 star deluxe designation.]

As a family of 6 - 4 adults and 2 children - we were wondering how the children would find the holiday but our guides became friends as well. They helped us know the best prices to pay and protected us when we got some hassle and even played games with the children. We couldn't have asked for more.
Highly recommended.
I cannot praise this company highly enough. From the very first email I received from Marwa Amer I knew I was in safe hands. She was very understanding and helped with all my requirements. I am a female solo traveler but not once did I feel unsafe at any of the locations I was touring, thanks again to the staff at Memphis Tours. Every one I met who worked for the company were polite, very friendly and warm. Their professionalism shone through! I had three tours with MemphisTours. An overnight in Cairo which consisted of - 1st day El Fayoum oasis including Qaroon Lake, which is the oldest natural lake in the world. Quite spectacular, especially for those who are interested in birds. Though if you go during the summer months it is extremely hot, so take care. Hats, sunscreen and lots of water are a must ! On the 2nd day. I visited Djosers step pyramid at Sakkara and the temples of Ty and Mereuca. If you take an interest in the pharonic period and have seen the pyramids at Giza then this is where it all began. Then on to Memphis, the first ancient egyptian capital to view the wonderful alabaster statue of Ramses ll.. To round off my day, I went to Khan el Kalili the famous bazzar in Cairo. WOW! So exciting, the sounds, colours and aroma's, my senses were overloaded. I would go again tomorrow! In fact I am returning to Egypt for my third year in a row next year and of course will be using the services of Memphis Tours.. My grateful thanks go to Hassan Maghwry for the time I spent in Cario., Sakkara and Memphis. He taught me so much more than I would find in a book! Very very special thanks to Hamdi Fayez for the fun we had in Hurghada. It was as though we had been friends forever! I hope we will remain so!
Thank you Memphis Tours!
Hussien in Giza & Amany
