Day 01: Alexandria Port/ Pyramids Tour
Memphis Tours representative will pick you up from Alexandria Port upon your cruise ship arrival by the exit door, holding a sign of your name. After that you will be transferred by an air-conditioned vehicle to Cairo, approximately 3 hours, with a stop if needed to have a rest. Start your tour in Cairo enjoying a visit to the Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus. Then proceed to visit the Great Sphinx, the head of a pharaoh with a lion's body, which dates back to the time of Chephren; the tour also includes a visit to the Valley Temple, which belongs to the Pyramid of Chephren. Move on to visit the Step Pyramids of Zoser, the world's oldest major stone structure. It was built in the 3rd Dynasty (around 2630 BC) for King Djoser. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Cairo. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 02: Egyptian Museum / Salah Din Citadel
Breakfast at your hotel, then you will be escorted by your tour guide to Salah el Din Citadel, Albaster mosque of Mohamed Ali which was designed by the architect Yousif Boushnaq, a Turkish man who came especially from Istanbul to build this great mosque for Mohamed Ali, the ruler of Egypt (1805-1849) who ruled Egypt over 45 years.
Lunch will be served at a Local Resturant in Cairo, then move on to visit the Egyptian Museum which features artifacts from the Pharaonic period. The museum displays a rare collection of 5000 years of art which are considered the largest most precious collection of Egyptian artifacts in the world. Over 250,000 genuine artifacts are presented, including an exhibit dedicated to Tutankhamen collection of treasures, gold and jewelry which were enclosed in his tomb for over 3,500 years before its discovery in the 1920s when his tomb was excavated. Continue driving to Islamic Cairo, where you will be to Khan El Khalil Bazaar, Cairo`s old bazaar (if there's enough time). After that travel via air-conditioned modern vehicle back to Alexandria Port. Back to your cruise ship for the final departure.
any book could have :) Upon arrival we went directly to the pyramids, which were an experience of its own (do not leave without riding a Camel). After that we went to eat to a buffet restaurant chosen by the tour agency. The food was not great but not bad either and was included o the price so no complains there. Then we calling the day and went directly to the hotel.
It was a 5 star hotel. It was amazing with views to the pyramids. I couldn't believe that for the tour price they would have included such an exquisite hotel. Definitely a surprise. Our suite was huge and with beautiful garden views and the staff extremely helpful. It also included a free buffet breakfast that pretty much had it all you could expect with lots of traditional Egyptian food.
The next day we did the museum, some city landmarks and lots of shopping. The whole experience was perfect. The combination of great tour guide, excellent driver with our own private car, the food, the place, the landmarks and the people made it happen.
A special thanks to Emad, who not only is a tour guide but also a Egyptologist and Psychologist. He made it all happen. Made our stay safe and fun with a twist of the unexpected. We totally recommend Memphis tours and highly recommend Emad Saleem.

Our cruise itinerary was changed to include Egypt just 2 weeks before departure, I found Memphis Tours on line and was able to book within a few days. Yosri of Memphis Tours responded quickly with a complete 2-day itinerary at half the price of the overnight cruise excursion. The guides were professional and informative and even found an internet cafe and helped us bargain for good prices at the bazaar. The driver was exceptional considering the traffic. Our room at Mena House had an outstanding view of the pyramids. All the arrangements were perfect. I would highly recommend visiting Cairo and using Memphis Tours.
recommend Memphis Tours for anyone wanting an independent excursion.

We had a wonderful time from start to finish. When exiting the cruise ship terminal there were tons of people who had booked private tours as well many with Memphis. They all held signs out with names and then took you to the car/van. We were able to see so much more then we would have on our own and our guide and driver were perfect! They were so flexible to what we wanted and even made two special stops for us . One was that my mother mentioned that restaurants she kept asking for Egyptian tea and she kept getting served Lipton, so our guide stopped and bought her a package of real Egyptian tea for her to make at home! We chose the 2 day tour of Cairo but were able to squeeze in stopping by Alexandria library and a short drive around the city. Cairo and Alex are so different and I was thrilled that we got to see Cairo first before we saw the more modern and Westernized Alexandria.
Memphis arranged everything for us. They booked us the hotel Le Meridien Pyramids which was lovely and very clean. The rooms were massive although the walls were a bit thin (my husband and I must have been next to a room with many kids and we heard them until they went to sleep). The hotel gift shop also had great prices on everything- we were disappointed with the Papyrus Institute and the prices were pretty high. The hotel gift shop had a huge selection of the exact same thing and at least half the price.
Also it was great that the little details were taken care of. Yet since it was a private tour it was exactly what we wanted and we could stay places longer or shorter if we wanted. Our guide knew the best places to get pictures and was great with using our SLR camera and offered to take family photos and fun photos (leaning on the pyramid or squishing it with your foot :) It was wonderful to have photos with the whole group. One of the nicest bonuses though was that the guide and driver had change so whenever we stopped for the bathroom they would give us some so we could pay the attendant or buy toilet paper. I do recommend getting pocket sized hand sanitizer though.
Memphis tours made our short time in Egypt unbelievable, I would recommend them to everyone!
We had concerns of not doing the two day trip off the ship. They warned us that our safety could be in jeopardy and that it would be possible to miss the ship if not going through the ship's excursions. We decided to take our chances with Memphis Tours since Marwa Samir had given us a wonderful itinerary. She was very responsive to our emails and answered every questions without delay. Our tour price included the van, a driver, a guide and a government provided security guard. We had a hotel night, three meals and entry to all the sites we wanted to see. The price was half the price of the cruise ship and we even stayed in the same hotel as the ship's excursion group and then we had two of the meals in the same restaurants they did!
With Memphis tours we were able to customize our tour to what we wanted to see and do. Our tour guide, Maha Mahmoud was fantastic! We switched the itinerary a few times and Maha was very gratuitous and immediately put our requests into action. She told us how to "shop" the vendors at the sites we went to and she even stepped in and helped us with discussions around the prices of a few things. She coached us on several occasions as she is aware of what things should cost and was not going to have us pay any more than that!
We were starting to run out of time on the second day and Maha really exerted herself to get the restaurant staff to serve our lunch in record time. Even with our lack of time she found a way that we could stop at Starbucks on the way to the ship. We had been talking about wanting Starbucks for two days. (We come from the Northwest and Starbucks is an icon here.) To see one in Egypt was surreal to us!
All 12 of us would recommend Memphis Tours without any hesitation. We would also, with great pleasure, recommend Maha as the tour guide. You would have a great time and would not worry about a single thing with her!
I found that the price Memphis charged was significantly cheaper than a similar tour provided directly by the cruiseline. The only difference was, instead of being on a bus with 20 other random cruisers, we had a air-conditioned minibus, personal driver and personal tour guide, all to ourselves.
MEMPHIS TOURS was EXCELLENT!

6 PEOPLE Tour from Celebrity Equinox Cruise
We used MEMPHIS TOURS for our cruise ship tour from Alexandria to Cairo to see the Pyramids, Sphinx and many other attractions, we even had Memhis Tours book our overnight hotel rooms at Le Meridien Hotel. Marwa Amer at Memphis Tours did a fantastic job, giving us exactly what I had requested!
Tariq our guide was extremely personable and responsive to our requests and he spoke excellent English, giving us a tremendous knowledge about the sites we visited.
If you want a truly memorable adventure in Egypt, then you should contact Marwa Amer at Memphis Tours.
Your company's organisation and follow up were outstanding and the guide we had for 2 days, Hanna, was superb.
She was absolutely perfect over both trips, lots of knowledge, fun to be with and we left feeling we had made a friend.
I would recommend her and your company to anyone I know who will be visiting Egypt in the future.
Thank you once again
Best wishes

Day II, we visited the Citadel of Saladin and Mosque of Muhammad Ali and the truly unbelievable Egyptian Museum of Antiquities. Lunch was at the Hard Rock Cafe in Cairo (they offered an Egyptian buffet that was terrific so don't be turned off by the name if you are looking for regional cuisine).
We were pleased with absolutely everything on the tour but I must say that the absolute best part was our guide, Ahmed. I strongly encourage you to ask for him personally. We were truly amazed by the sheer volume of his knowledge of Egyptian history and culture. He also shared with us some very moving context on Islam during our visit to the Mosque of Muhammad Ali. Ahmed was extremely attuned to our needs and recommended a few excellent shops where we were able to browse without pressure. We felt very at home from the moment we met him. I cannot recommend him or Memphis Tours highly enough.
We all had the greatest time in Egypt. Can't wait to go back.
Thank you for your hospitality.
