Sibiloi National Park
Sibilo National Park lies on the northeastern shore of Lake Turkana in North Kenya, the National Park was established in 1973 by the government of Kenya to protect the wildlife, it covers around 1,570 Square Kilometers.

Although Sibiloi National Park might be limited compared to other safari destinations in Kenya it’s highly recommended by the tourists as it’s also one of the most beautiful places in Kenya.
History
Sibiloi National Park was established in 1973 by the government of Kenya to protect the wildlife, it covers around 1,570 Square Kilometers.
The park was originally named after Mount Sibiloi which is located near the park headquarters of the Kenya Wildlife Service.
Best Time to Visit
The most preferable time to visit the park is between March, during the crocodile bleeding and birds migration back to Europe. Other than that, the park can be visited during any time of the year, given the climatic conditions.
Wildlife in Sibiloi National Park
Wildlife experiences are limited compared to other safari destinations in Kenya, but you will observe grant’s gazelles, hippos, giraffes and more.
The park's climate is hot. However, it protects a range of wildlife of animals that can live in arid conditions such as Grevy's Zebra, Gerenuk, Beisa Oryx, and greater Kudu. Other wildlife species include predators like Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Striped and Spotted Hyena, Jackal and Caracal.
The world’s largest population of Nile Crocodile is found on the North, South and Central Island of Lake Turkana, making the location very unique.
With more than 300 bird species recorded around Lake Turkana, Birdlife is prolific. This number increases during the summer months due to the migration of species. Although the alkaline lake is not suitable for many species, flamingos and Pelicans love the salty environment of the water. Visitors can spot a variety of water birds on the shoreline including African Skimmers, Herons and Gulls. Last but not least, the park is home to local species such as the Crested Lark and Heuglin's Bustard.

1- Koobi Fora Museum
The museum provides a great insight into human evolution. It comprises the evidence of human and pre-human fossils remains of five species: the Australopithecus anamensis, skull of the Homo habilis/rudolfensis dating two million years ago, skull of the Paranthropus boisei, Homo erectus and Homo sapiens.
2- Sand Dunes
The sand dunes are best enjoyed in a four-wheeled drive. Enjoy the experience and the magnificent palm trees.
3- Lake Turkana
Lake Turkana is one of the major attractions in the park. It is the largest desert lake in Africa. The color of the lake changes with time from blue to jade and grey. The change in color happens due to the algae particles in the lake.
4- Mount Sibiloi
The remains of a Petrified Forest dating 7 million years ago were found at the volcanic mount. There is evidence of a cedar forest, based on the shores of the lake.
