Itinerary
Day 1: Fly Cairo to Aswan - Nile Cruise Tour
- Pick you up from your hotel in Cairo
- Transfer to Cairo international airport to fly to Aswan
- Transfer to embark Nile Cruise before lunch.
- Visit the High Dam, Unfinished Obelisk & Philae Temple.
- Lunch on board.
- Dinner on board.
- Overnight in Aswan.
Day 2: Kom Ombo Temple
Breakfast on board the cruise, then at noon sail to Kom Ombo to visit Temple shared by two gods Sobek and Haeroris in Kom Ombo. Have lunch on board then, sail to Edfu. with dinner and overnight in Edfu.

Day 3: Edfu Temple Nile Cruise Excursions
Breakfast on board your Nile cruise ship then visit Hours temple in Edfu before sailing to Luxor with lunch on board the vessel. You will be transferred back to the Nile cruise ship for dinner and Belly dance show on board with overnight aboard the Nile cruise vessel in Luxor.

Day 4: Luxor Nile Cruise Tours
Disembarkation after breakfast, Enjoy a wonderful tour to visit East Bank of the Nile in Luxor to the Karnak and Luxor temples followed by a visit to the West Bank of the River Nile in Luxor to the Valley of the Kings, the temple of Queen Hatshepsut at El Deir EL Bahari and the Colossi Memnon with free time at leisure in Luxor for great shopping opportunity and then you will be transferred to Luxor airport to fly back to Cairo.

“Cairo and Nile cruise with Memphis Tour”

Fantastic journey to Egypt, unforgettable on any point of view. Memphis tour provided for us a safe and fantastic journey, well scheduled and organized. The tour guides were very competent and perfect with their italian language (we chose to have italan speaking guides as we are italian, and memphis tour was very flexible about it). We wish to come back to those marvellous places in Egypt soon, you have the unique chance to visit incredible and beautiful temples of an ancient culture. Our son, 9 yeas old, enjoyed this unforgettable journey so much, he learned a lot about ancient Egyptian culture while enjoying all the aspects of our marvellous journey!

Now is the time to visit Egypt and with the help of Memphis Tours.
Everything is normal in Egypt. Despite what you may have heard or seen in the news, Egypt is not burning down. I just returned from a week-long trip to there and there were no riots, etc.. I was in Cairo during their referendum on Dec. 15, 2012, and the Egyptian men and women were lined up at the polling stations peacefully. I even went by Tahrir Square and nothing was out of the ordinary. The most dangerous part of the trip was the Cairo traffic and the touts.
In fact, with so many tourists avoiding the country because of the negative perceptions, the major sites were uncrowded. I even got to see the King Tut treasures up close without having to elbow someone out of the way. From Aswan to the Valley of the Kings to the Karnak Temples, the crowds were minimal, leaving the visitor more time and space to appreciate thousands of years of history. So, I say go now, and avoid the crowds.
I went with Memphis Tours and was very happy with the quality of the guides and organization. You can, of course, travel independently or with another group, but I chose Memphis Tours because they were an established tour operator, the tour schedule fit well with my vacation schedule, and the price was right.
Marwa Aziz was very helpful in arranging and customizing the tour for me online. However, as someone mentioned earlier on Trip Advisor, there is no hourly breakdown of the itinerary, so you cannot see the slack in the schedule. Fortunately for me, this was minimal and most of it was while sitting on the cruise ship; I just took advantage of the time to relax.
There was one issue with the schedule that I should point out. I spent three nights on the Nile cruise, followed by a night train to Cairo, followed by two nights in Cairo. After we checked out of the boat in the morning, and before we were driven to the railway station at night (in Luxor), we were given two options: stay on the boat (for a cost of $25, including lunch) or stay for a few hours at a two star hotel in Luxor (for $10). We were required to choose one or the other. It was not a big deal, but I just thought I should mention it.
During the time after we disembarked and before the train ride, we were free to do whatever we pleased; some people even took an optional tour at this time. This was not mentioned anywhere and I wish I had known about this; I did get to visit the small, but worthwhile Luxor Museum, though.
As with any tour, there never seems to be enough time spent at places like the Egyptian Museum. If I go back, I would schedule a free day on my own just to re-visit the museum and the Community of the Religious.
I had two guides: Ahmed El Prince and Mohammed Ritchie. I apologize if I misspelled the names. Ahmed was a very knowledgeable and attentive guide. Not only that, but he even gave us tips on how not to get scammed by some unscrupulous locals. Ahmed was a real trooper guiding us even with his bad back. He kept us on schedule and entertained from Aswan to Luxor.
My guide in Cairo, was Mohammed Ritchie and my driver was Ossama. I was driven from Giza to Cairo to Sakkara and Memphis. Ritchie was very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive and I am very glad that someone like Ossama was at the wheel in the chaos that is Cairo traffic.
Memphis Tours also sent people to meet us at the airport and train stations. I should mention that I was on my own while checking in, filling out the customs forms and getting an entry visa, etc.. Not a big deal; just follow the signs. (Entry visas are sold by the same guys who change money.)
My accommodations on the boat and the Grand Pyramids hotel in Giza were better than expected, though the location of the Grand Pyramids hotel was a little dodgy. Both locations had pools, in case you needed them. There was free WiFi in the Grand Pyramids hotel, but it was only available in the lobby and it was really slow (and I mean really slow). You could also pay for WiFi on the boat, but it was expensive and slow. Surprisingly, the WiFi connection at the two-star hotel was quicker; that was worth the $10 in itself. That's just as well, I was on vacation, after all.
Also, the entertainment on the boat at night was minimal. We had one night involving a belly dancing show and it wasn't that good.
Generally, I was very pleased with Memphis Tours and would recommend them to anyone. Aside from the touts hassling us at every turn and that guy with the camel at the Grand Pyramids hotel who scammed me out of five bucks and the guy who offered to take my picture in one of the tombs and them demanded that I give him two bucks, I had an enjoyable time in Egypt and I look forward to returning some day.

I stumbled onto Memphis Tours online after our plans with another tour company, GoWay Travel, fell through due to their incompetence. Turns out it was a lucky break! Memphis Tours was awesome, and helped my friend and I arrange our entire trip across Egypt. I set up the entire trip with Mustafa Ahmed, via online chat and then over email. Mustafa gave us several options based on what I said we wanted to do, and everything we agreed on was exactly as advertised. After the bad experience with GoWay Travel (seriously, their name alone should say it all: Go AWAY!), I kept expecting our plans to unravel into a total disaster. But Memphis was excellent! Since my friend and I were flying into Luxor from our safari in Tanzania-Nairoi, Mustafa arranged for a car to pick us up at the airport, where Mahmoud was there waiting for us with a sign and advice to help us pick up our entry visas. We were then driven down to Aswan (about 3 hours) to board our ship for our Nile River cruise. Once on the ship, Ahmed Gomaa (aka "Friday") was our guide, and he was excellent. He showed us around at all the sites along the way, and even took us on a special "city tour" once we arrived back in Luxor. We also visited Abydos and Dendera with Friday before catching a flight to Cairo. Again, someone from Memphis Tours was there in Cairo to pick us up at the airport. Once in Cairo, our tour guide was Emad Seleem. He is a free agent guide, but he often works with Memphis, Emad was awesome, and took us to all the sites in Cairo (per our agreed upon itinerary), including the pyramids, the Sphinx, Coptic Cairo, the Egyptian Museum, and the public market. Then, we did a 2-day overnight desert safari, where we camped in the middle of the Sahara in the White Mountains. This was amazing! Definitely one of the highlights of the whole trip! All the while, Emad was incredibly knowledgeable about the history and specifics of each place, and took TONS of great pictures of us!
Going into this trip I was totally clueless on Egypt, and how to see and do all the things we wanted to do, and even the people I talked to who had been there didn't have much to recommend about tour companies or guides. Really I think we lucked out by stumbling onto Memphis Tours, and now I would definitely use them again, and/or recommend them--and our guides Friday and Emad specifically!--to anyone who asked. So it was quite fortuitous that I came across Mustafa on Memphis' online chat feature.
One minor note, and this is much more about Egypt in general than about Memphis Tours: the tipping culture is huge in Egypt, which is primarily a sign of a very poor and unsophisticated economy, with everyone wanting a cut for every little thing. This is very annoying, especially when you're on vacation and don't want to be constantly playing accountant and banker, calculating how much to tip, and making sure you have enough of the appropriate denominations handy at the right times. But, it is what it is, and that's just part of traveling to foreign lands with different cultures and customs. My big recommendation is just to minimize this pain by having plenty of currency (Egyptian pounds) in many different denominations. Then, assuming you have a good guide with whom you feel comfortable, and is trustworthy, simply ask him how much you should tip various people, so you don't have to do the math, and/or end up in an awkward situation where you don't tip enough.

Shortly before we departed for Egypt we were informed that our cruise details had changed and we were booked onto a different dahabiya. This late change made us apprehensive, given the political and economic situation. However, we need not have worried as, like every else in our dealings with memphis Tours, what was promised was delivered - indeed exceeded.
We arrived in Luxor and, after our first temple visit, were taken to the boat. Not only was it more luxurious than the one we had booked but, when we sailed, we found the two of us were the only passengers! Five days of bliss. We set our own timetable - often visiting the ancient sites when hardly anyone else was there. We chose our own food - a total of 48 delicious vegetarian dishes. We were served by 17 members of the crew. Nothing was too much trouble for Victor and his crew (including retrieving the luggage which EgyptAir had managed to lose for 24 hours).
Times are difficult in Egypt and the tourist industry has been hit hard. We saw no sign of trouble, indeed we were welcomed wherever we went. I urge you to take advantage of the opportunity to negotiate a bargain price and see some of the wonders of the world at this quiet time.
And we wholeheartedly recommend Mr Mohamed Sakr and his colleagues at Memphis Tours.
Incredible Egypt Experience

We had an excellent experience in Egypt thanks to Memphis Tours. We were on a cruise and chose to take a private tour instead of the ship's tour and it was a fantastic choice. We had booked our overnight tour in advance but our tour operator Mohamed Sakr was able to accommodate a last minute visit to the Egyptian Museum. Our tour guide Ahmed was wonderful as was our skilled driver Ahmed. We had a great time with them and they took many, many photos for us. They took us right up to the sights we wanted to see. The Pyramids were stunning and the hotel was spectacular, with a view of the pyramids from the balcony. We felt safe and well looked after the entire time we were there. The Egyptian people were friendly. At the time of our visit there were not many tourists. We were able to walk right into the King Tut exhibit and had the Alabaster Mosque to ourselves for 5-10 minutes first thing in the morning. When we returned to the ship and compared experiences with other cruisers we discovered that they had felt crowded, rushed and overwhelmed by the number of vendors who constantly approached them. Our guide spoke to vendors as we approached and they stepped aside. It was a completely different experience. The private tour was worth every penny. My brother and sister have also taken an over night Cairo tour through Memphis and they had the same wonderful experience as we did. Many thanks to Ahmed and Ahmed they showed us a great time.
