Tour to the West Bank in Luxor
“We had the best guide in all of Luxor!”
, 2/15/14
My wonderful boyfriend and I spent 2 days in Luxor and booked a half-day tour for each day with Memphis Tours.
On the first morning, Memphis Tours picked us up from our hotel in Luxor to discover the West bank of Luxor. We visited the magnificent Valley of the Kings as our first stop. Then we moved on to enjoy the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut built by Queen Hatshepsut herself, the only woman who reigned ancient Egypt. On the second day, we discovered the east bank of Luxor and visited the Karnak Temples, dedicated to the God Amon, his wife Mut and their son Khonsu.
Then we went to Luxor Temple and enjoyed visiting the Obelisk of Ramses II whose other pair stands in Paris! Our guide, egyptologist Abdelaal Wannan's knowledge was truly impressive. He explained in great detail the history of ancient Egypt and the sites we visited. Abdelaal had a vast knowledge and passion about ancient Egyptian culture, history and religion. He made the tour very interesting and treated us like family. He was very attentive and informative and answered all our questions (his English was excellent). The profesionalism of both Abdelaal and the driver was outstanding and highly recommended. I must mention that Abdelaal has talent for taking really great photos if you want your photo taken in the amazing temples!

Absolutely Perfect ~ Very Accomodating ~ 7 star service
, 4/14/13
Right from the start of our research, Memphis provided professional service. We emailed Fatima our wish list and she suggested package options which we then adapted to suit or personal needs.
1) Half day West Bank tour ~ Sayed our guide was humerous and informative. He let us have as long or as short a time at each venue and was very knowledgable
2) Full day in Cairo, Ruby in Luxor accompanied us to check-in and got us emergency exit seats for our flight to Cairo, he also checked us in for the return flight, saving us time later on. Tarek was awaiting us in arrivals and took us to our driver and guide. We had an amazing day in Cairo, we chose to drop the souk from the suggested itinery and returned to Luxor earlier than planned, we still fitted in the Pyramids, Sphinx, Coptic Churches & Cairo Museum. Traffic in Cairo is HORRENDOUS but our driver was Excellent.
With a private guide you are not forced to visit carpet factories/gold centres etc. as happens with other operators group excursions.
We were protected from hawkers & hassle and all or tickets etc. were sorted for us.
We were very impressed with Memphis and will definitely use them again when we return to Egypt and highly recommend them.

Awesome guide Sayed Selim, awesome Memphis
, 1/9/13
Thanks very much to our great guide Sayed Selim during our Nile cruise. He told us lot interesting stories during the visits to different temples, and arranged our trip in a way that we could see everything while not getting too stressful. Thanks to the additional free day-hotel, so that we can have a rest in Luxor before heading back to Cairo after the cruise. If one day we go back to Egypt, will definitely contact Memphis again!

Amazing tour
, 7/16/12
I'm actually writing this review really late as we travelled in 2010 (but TA wouldn't let me go abck that far!), but I was trying to find the website for a friend going to Egypt this year and noticed the tripadvisor link so thought I should submit a review.
Mohamed arranged to have us picked up in El Gouna, for which there was no extra charge, even though it is 20-30 minutes out of Hurghada. We had no issues at the airport - the guy who picked us up escorted us in and helped us check in, and REFUSED a tip!! We were met in Cairo and taken straight to the van, and then the Egyptologist, Mahdy, got in the car. From them on, it was non-stop history... I think I learned more from him than I did in the last 25 years! It was amazing to meet someone so passionate and enthusiastic about his own country.
It was an overnight stay and the hotel in Cairo was fantastic (other than them calling us in the middle of the night to demand payment for the room service dinner we had had earlier that evening... bizarre!!) And we could see the tip of the pyramid from our window!
We had another full day of tours the next day, and then a flight back to Hurghada and a drive back to El Gouna. All in all, we saw SO much I can't even remember it all to write it here, the pyramids of Giza, the old step pyramid, the citadel, a bazaar (famous but I can't remember what it's called!), some painted churches, the huge museum, a perfume factory and more.
Fantastic guides, and even the drivers (who didn't know much English) tried their absolute hardest to make conversation with us and make us feel welcome. I honestly can't believe anyone would give Memphis Tours a bad review (unless we were just really lucky!) - the best tour company I have ever been with, worldwide!

I am heading to Egypt in a few days and I have been using Memphis tours to organize a number of excursions. They have been excellent: they reply very quickly at any time of the day, they are helpful, and they listen to any suggestions that you might have. Highly recommended. Can't wait to begin with them.

An A for effort and communication
, 2/14/12
We very much enjoyed our Memphis tours experience to Luxor. We appreciated the effort that you put into making the trip work for us. It was a last minute trip with 11 people involved and you did not hesitate to make it happen for us practically overnight. Thanks for your communication at every step of the way.

Egypt - enjoyed every moment, thanks to Memphis Tours
, 2/11/12
Memphis Tour Company was recommended to me by a friend who recently travelled to Egypt. I found their staff members to be very gracious and their service throughout my trip excellent. All I had to do was enjoy the customized excursions they planned for me based on what I wanted to do. The most enjoyable part for me was being shown the Wonders of Egypt by Egyptians who are very proud of their country!

Fabulous trip with wonderful guides/travel consultants !
, 1/31/12
Our travel consultant ( Fattoush Saad) planned all our travels within Egypt and she did it in a very organized and concise manner. We were booking a Christmas holiday late and she make us her top priority . She was a great help to us and answered all questions to the best of her ability ! She even got us bumped up to a luxury hotel while in Cairo !

We had two tour guides that were courteous, punctual and knowledgeable and made our visit to Egypt memorable. Their names were Shaimaa Baheeg in Luxor /Valley of the Kings and Ahmad El Sayed in Cairo for the pyramids/city tour/ saquarra.

Shaimmaa Baheeg - great tour guide
, 1/21/12
My boyfriend and I went to Egypt and booked a couple of tours with Memphis Tours - One of the temples of Luxor and Karnak, the other the Valley of the Kings and Hatshepsut's Tomb. Our guide was Shaimaa Baheeg, who was fantastic and made our trips really enjoyable. She was very friendly and welcoming, as well as being knowledgeable about everything we saw. She was happy to fit the trips around what we wanted to see and do, and made good recommendations for food and other trips we might like to do while we were in Luxor. Thanks, Shaimaa!

Great, informative tour for the money
, 3/14/11
My brother and I traveled to Cairo and booked tours of the Egyptian museum, pyramids, sphix, Khan El-Khalili bazaar as well as a tour of Luxor the next day (we booked a flight to Luxor separately). In Luxor, we saw the Valley of the Kings, Queen Hatshepsut temple, Karnak Temple and the Luxor Temple. The tour company and guides were very informative. They picked us up on time, the private air-conditioned car and guide were amazing to have and very worth it. We even finished the tour in Luxor and they let us got to a hotel and wait for our flight and did not charge us extra! They do take you to a few stores between stops that appear to be somewhat promotional to the local vendor however, I thought seeing papyrus being made and seeing the alabaster vases being made was informative and interesting. You do not have to buy anything and can make the stop as long or short as you want. I’m not entirely sure if they’d have a problem if you did not wish to stop in general, but it did not seem like it would be. I did a lot of research and most of the tours do the same thing. I would certainly recommend booking with Memphis Tours. If you have a custom tour in mind give them a call and they work with you on the details and price. I really do not think you'll save on money or time booking through a hotel or trying to wing it with a cab once you arrive.

Memphis is the best deal going.

We took 3 tours with them. They were always on-time and did a great job explaining things to us and making sure our trip was going great.

Our guide Ahmed was fantastic. He knew everything there was to know about the sights and the city.

I am still amazed at how affordable it was. I highly recommend.

“Reliable friendly service on all our tours”

We used Memphis travel for Three tours. On each occasions the guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. We were picked up on time, which alone is an achievement considering the traffic and thoroughly enjoyed our time in Cairo.

“Day trip in Luxor - East & West bank tour”
, 6/24/10
I have just returned from a week long trip to Luxor in Egypt, I came across memphis tours when I was doing some research about the sites in the area. The website alone was impressive enough to pursuade me to book with this company, they have a live chat feature which allows you to ask any questions about the trip or to ask for any advice you need prior to visiting Egypt. The staff I dealt with through the website were very professional and extremly helpful. I booked a trip for two people to visit -
The valley of the kings, the temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the colossi pf Memnon, Karnak temple and Luxor temple.

The tour group itself only consited of me, my partner and our tour guide Shaimaa Baheeg. Some tour groups which we seen walking around some of the sites included over at least 30 people, which I assume were people who had booked the trip through their rep once they arrived, and everyone went on the same day. I would highly recommend booking through Memphis tours due to the excellent value for money that you do recieve! Our tour guide was very hospitable and knowledgable and so helpful when we asked questions.

I could not fault anything concerning the trip that we had booked, we paid the deposit over the internet and then the rest in Sterling once the trip was over. You have the option to pay in your home currency or Egyptian. You will not be dissapointed if you book a trip with Memphis tours and I can not praise the staff highly enough who work for the company.
